Obituary For Gloria Abney

Funeral ceremony for Gloria McKinney Abney, 63, of Anniston, Al will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Greater Thankful Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Byron Jackson, officiating and Pastor Carlton Phillips, Eulogist.

Burial will follow in Edgemont Cemetery. Viewing will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 from 1pm-6pm at the chapel of Goodson Funeral Home.

Survivors include: Her husband of 41 years, Derek Abney; her two children, Shonika (Prince) Abney Kwarteng and Shamarek (Whitley) Abney; her nephew, Kerry Rawls; and her seven grandchildren, Amareea Abney, Kyree Woods, Mykail Abney, Jabari Abney, Jonathan Kwarteng, Layla Glenn, and Justin Kwarteng; siblings, Ilean (Jimmy) Miller, Glenda (Daniel) Lowe, Gladys(Sherman) Whalon, Arnethia Burnett, Sandra Whyatt, Ben Curtis McKinney and Henri McKinney; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Margaret McKinney; siblings, Wilson McKinney, Jr; Charles McKinney, and Lillie English; nephew, Donta Lowe, Sr; and father-in-law, Johnnie Abney.
