Audrey Ann Carter

I was very saddened to hear that Audrey had passed. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to her family in this time of sorrow. She was a good friend and classmate, Elementary and Blue Ridge High School in Seneca, South Carolina. I will always remember her loving and caring ways.

My favorite moments with Mama Audrey was at the cabins in Gatlinburg where she made her awesome grits. It was my first time eating it. She kept saying it wasn't her best, as I was getting a second serving. She also helped me when I first got an inhaler. I was nervous because I've never done it before. She was so motherly and patient with me that after 10 minutes of encouragement, I felt very comfortable. It was silly of me to feel like that but she made me feel that it was fine (with her big smile). Lastly, when she would visit Lyn and Derrick, she would sit outside on their front porch where at times, I would come over and talk with her and the family and share some laughs. She will be missed dearly. I am thankful to have met such a wonderful person. My condolences to the family. -Connie Maupin
