With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of a beloved centenarian who lived a long and fulfilling life of a hundred years. He passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Family and friends are invited to join a public visitation ceremony, which will be held at Goolsby Mortuary located at 1375 Jonesboro Rd SE Atlanta, GA 30315, on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4-7 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Mt.Zion Second Baptist Church, located at 137 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30312, on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The interment will occur at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 5755 Mallory Rd, College Park, GA 30349.
Marialaine Scott & family, I am very sorry to hear the news of your dad resting in a deep sleep. The Bible speaks about the resurrection in Act25:15 & John 5:29. I hope that you and your family know that Jehovah God is close to the broken hearted and he hears your stress. Please read Psalm 34: 17 & 18 for comfort. I am sorry for your loss. I hope you will recall the upbuilding memories of Mr. Scott, and keep in mind the encouraging scripture found at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. It brings out; "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God"
