Mr. Michael B. Goolsby, I, was born July 23, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Thomas D. Goolsby, Jr. and Lillie Goolsby. He is the Second Generation, Owner of Goolsby Mortuary & Cremation Services. Mr. Michael passed away on September 2, 2022. Homegoing Celebration Services will begin Thursday, September 8, 2022, with his Public Visitation starting at 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. at the family's firm located at 1375 Jonesboro Road, S.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30315. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at noon at Mt Zion Second Baptist Church located at 137 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30312. Mr. Michael B. Goolsby, I, will be placed in state at 11:00 a.m. at the church. This service will be recorded and streamed live. In the event the service is interrupted at any time due to technical issues, the entire service will be uploaded and available to view later in the day. The interment will be held at Southview Cemetery, located at 1990 Jonesboro Road, S.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30315. Mr. Michael B. Goolsby, I, is survived by his loving wife and partner; Marie A.W. Goolsby, three children: Gekelia, Michael II, (Dawn) and Erica, (Justin) Goolsby-Elder, six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, extended family, and friends.
