I'll always cherish the memories of you beginning from my childhood. You always made me feel so special — from being the only one who could pick up your chubby niece with ease... to fulfilling my passion for music by getting me all the latest 45s and albums... the annual family picnics that you claimed that you "weren't going to attend" but did... and the numerous crab parties (just for me) during each visit! Not to mention your sense of humor that I always looked forward to; that kept me and the family rolling!

You will forever be in my heart, loved, and greatly missed.

I have so many warm and happy memories of us growing up as children; and throughout the years as well. You always kept us laughing. I always looked forward to seeing you when I came home to visit because I knew your sense of humor would never disappoint. I cherished our phone conversations about your recent research and programs centered around the preservation of the history of Alexandria. I also looked forward to being in your presence as you beamed with pride while sharing your passion. It warmed my heart and made me so proud of you.

I wish I could have been able to come home to be with you in the last few months. My heart is so heavy at the thought of your not being here anymore. I hope you knew how much I loved you, Robert. I didn't realized how much I'm going to miss you as a brother. You are going to be deeply missed.
