Obituary For Wilson Otis Hall

Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Harvest Assembly Baptist Church, 8008 Fordson Road, Alexandria, VA

Visitation: 10 a.m. Funeral: 11 a.m.

Burial: Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA

Repast: St. John Baptist Church 7730 Fordson Road immediately after the burial

Wilson Otis Hall was born on February 2, 1948 (ground hog day) in Wise, NC.
Affectionately known as “Mousey”, he was the 3rd of seven children born to Charles O.
Hall and Luella W. Hall.

Wilson was educated in the Alexandria Public School System, graduating from Lyles
Crouch Elementary and Parker Gray High schools. While at Parker Gray High School,
Wilson was a member of the famous PG marching band, playing the trumpet. He was
so proud wearing the band’s uniform and spats. Wilson pursued higher education at
Bethel University in Tennessee, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Sociology.

At an early age, Wilson attended the Ebenezer Baptist Church with his family. He later
professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined the First Baptist Church of Foxchase,
which later became Tabernacle Baptist Church. He served faithfully as Financial
Secretary, Van Driver, Harvest Ministry, and Usher with a welcoming smile until his
health started to decline. Wilson’s relationship with God shaped every chapter of his
life.

After graduating from college, Wilson secured a retail representative job at Texaco. He
also worked in the insurance industry selling policies to family and friends throughout
the Northern Virginia area. Later he worked as a social worker in the Fairfax County
area and after retirement, he worked in security for Freddie Mac. Wilson built lasting
relationships everywhere he worked.

Wilson loved his family! He looked forward to the many family outings, reunions, and
vacations. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved reading, especially
his daily bible reading and listening to his music; he loved traveling, eating a lot of good
food and spending quality time with his whole family! Wilson loved to laugh and was
such an easy communicator. He could carry on a conversation with anyone. He and his
buddy, Clyde Pearson would go to the gym every day, where we always believed there
was more talking than exercising. At church, he would often bless the youth on their
birthdays. He loved his church family. Wilson had a caring and giving spirit to so many.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Wilson, surrounded by family, peacefully took flight to his
new home in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles and Luella Hall and his baby
sister, Anita Hall.

He leaves behind a close-knit loving family and friends to cherish his memory:
Siblings: Clarence Hall (Juanita); Dallas Hall, Sr. (Victoria), Charles A. Hall (Ruby),
Deborah Hall-Greene Thomas (Kevin); and Ronald Hall. Uncles: Albert Long and
Donnie Long (Joyce). Aunts: Eva Hall Shaw, Janet Long Sledge, Lillie Mae Long, and
Mary Vernell Long. Nephews: Wayne Nutt, Devin Hall (Sonja), Dallas Hall, Jr., Brian
Hall (Lori), Brian Nutt, NyJuan Hall (Tiffany), and Derrick Greene. Nieces: Theresa
Moore (Myrle), Tabetha Thomas (Jonathan), Desha Winstead (Charlie), Shontee
Thomas, NyKia Hall, Crystal Thomas and Jasmine Worthington (Marquis). Great
nephews: Christopher Hall, Eric Edley (Jarita), DaTwaun Hall, Dawaun Hall, Isiah Hall,
Jeremiah Winstead, Noah Winstead, Carter Hall, Chase Randall and Miles Worthington.
Great nieces: Britney Hall, Chiana Hall, Lauryn Hall, Cameron Hall, Destiny Hall,
Morgan Winstead, Mackenzie Winstead, and Harper Thomas.
He will also be missed by a host of cousins and close friend, Clyde Pearson.
