Mr. Billy Anthony Sturgis was born in Rochester, New York, Monroe County on September 11, 1958 to the late Baron Sturgis and Willie Mae Lindell. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday; October 25, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.
Billy was employed as a brick mason for over twenty-five years. He retired from Petty Machine Shop in Gastonia, North Carolina as a janitor. He loved his old school music and a good Sunday dinner. He had a great sense of humor, but he was a hard task master. Billy enjoyed cooking and baking and he loved his dog, Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Vikki Williams, Quincey Sturgis, Timothy Sturgis and Sandy Sturgis.
Memories shall forever be cherished by his children: Porscha Parks, Billy Parks (Jaquiea) and Octavius Parks, aka Tay; his sisters: Rachel Mills and Sheila Kwok (Peter); nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday; October 29, 2022 at 11:30 with thirty minute visitation before the service.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Billy for several years. During this period I referred to him and considered him to be my son. I am so sorry for Billy's loss. I was there in the Hospital with him when he passed away. The best brother in law ever. He always kept it real and had a great sense of humor. He always brighten up my day with every visit. Gone too soon but never will be forgotten. Love and miss you Billy.
