Frances Huitt Malker was born on December 22, 1948, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Martha Adams Huitt in York, SC. Known to all as Ms. Frances, she attended the local schools of Gaston County. She worked at Gaston Memorial Hospital and Gaston County Schools until her retirement in 2009. Ms. Frances was a devoted member of Jesus is Love Holiness Church in Stanley, NC, where she served on the choir and on the usher board. Ms. Frances was a recording artist and recorded her favorite song “He Won’t Let You Down.” Her song was played on several radio stations throughout the Carolinas.
Ms. Frances was a loving mother and grandmother. She was known for her sweet potato pies and blondies. She also loved to shop, travel, sing, and spend time with her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Her warm and welcoming smile was just as beautiful as her outgoing personality.
On Friday, January 8th, Ms. Frances passed away peacefully at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Ms. Frances is preceded in death by her older brother Tom Huitt and sister Delcina Monroe.
Leaving to cherish her loving memories are her three sons, Terry Huitt (Angela), Kalvin Huitt (Angie) and Ronny Huitt (Shaun); one brother: Perry Huitt (Pearline), two sisters: Mary Holmes and Naomi Long all of Gastonia, NC; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Walk thru viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday; January 13, 2021 from 4 until 8.
Funeral: Thursday; January 14, 2021 at 1:00 at the funeral home with limited seating (30) due to social distancing
Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia
