Mr. George Rufus Gregory, son of the late Edward H. Gregory and Ollie M. Gregory, was born September 17, 1940 in Gastonia, North Carolina and departed this life on Wednesday; June 22, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.
George attended Highland High School, Gastonia, North Carolina. He worked for the State for twenty-eight years as a custodian at Central Elementary School, Gastonia, North Carolina. He was a member of the Jets Band for fifteen years. George loved playing the guitar, reading and teaching his family woodwork.
He was preceded in death by his father: Edward H. Gregory, his mother: Ollie M. Gregory; and his sisters: Virginia Howell and Barbara Glover.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Annie Crawford Gregory of Gastonia, North Carolina; his children: Eddie Gregory, Elaine Gregory and Teri Gregory all of Gastonia, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Melanie Gregory, Shannon Gregory and Trey Gregory; four great grandchildren: Chancellor Gregory, Jayden Adams-Gregory, Elijah Leach, and Dontavius Williams; two sisters: Doris Gray (Perry) of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Rhonda Butler (Tom) of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; two brothers: Edward Gregory and Leroy Gregory both of Gastonia, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday; June 28, 2022 from 4 until 7
