He quietly departed this earthy life on November 30, 2020 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
His early elementary education began at Reid High school in Belmont, NC and Grier Junior High in Gastonia, NC. Jeff did not graduate but he later received his GED and was very proud of his accomplishment.
Jeff started his work career at an early age as a golf caddy to earn extra income and he worked with our dad at Gaston Dye Machine. Jeff then relocated to Lincolnton NC, which became his home for more than 30 years. Jeff obtained employment at Big Dogs, Red Neck and Mohican Mills as a fork lift operator until his health forced him to retire at the early age of 55. He never complained about his illness, but he would say, "I never thought I would be forced to retire because of health issues. He stated that he would rather be working instead of sitting at home. Jeff would often reminiscence about playing golf in which he was passionate about. I must say, he was pretty good at the sport. As the progression of his health issues continued, he would watch baseball, basketball, tennis, boxing and golf on television and was very content.
Jeff is preceded in death by our father: Eugene Leach, mother, Cora Leach, brother, Robert Allen Leach, grandmothers, Ethel Lindsay and Eva Tuttle ,uncles, John R. Leach, Samuel Leach and M.L Lindsay.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of those he loved. He leaves to cherish his sister; Eugenia Carter (Demorse) of Gastonia NC, brother; Clinton F. Leach (Thomasina) of Bronx New York, nieces ; Angel McKinney, Cheryl Williams, Fernanda Leach, nephews; Rashad Carter, Frazier Leach, Terry Williams, Karseen Clinton, Jr., Kavon Leach and a host of cousins relatives and friends.
A man chooses his way, charts his course and lives with and by the choices he makes. Jeff made these choices and he chose to go his independent way making a few loyal friends along the way.
