Obituary For Karen Kennedy
Sister Karen “Kal” Denise Kennedy was born on March 26, 1966 to the late Otis Watson and Lois Ann Kennedy. She departed this life on Thursday; June 3, 2021 at CaroMont Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.
Sis. Kennedy was a member of the United House of Prayer. She attended the Gaston County Schools. She was employed at Sunshine Uniform Service until her health began to fail and she was unable to work. She was a very loving and outgoing woman and her greatest love was her grandchildren. She was very vibrant and would light up the room when family would come together. She loved cooking and especially enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas but she is known best for her servitude for others. Shew as a counselor, willing to listen, an instructor wanting things done right and was always looking for ways to make life better for those around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Dimawi “Gail” Kennedy; three brothers: Otis Kennedy, Dennis Kennedy and Fredrick Watson.
Left to cherish her memories are two daughters: Pamela Kennedy of Charlotte, NC and Catherine (Robert) Adams of Gastonia, NC; three brothers: Edward (Olivia) Kennedy of Charlotte, NC; Willie (Rita) Kennedy of Gastonia, NC and Michael Kennedy of kings Mountain, NC; three sisters: Sharon Kennedy of Charlotte, NC, Lorraine (Tommy) Hargett of Dawson, NC and Stacy (Nick) Camp of Dallas, NC; two aunts: Costella Kennedy of Dallas, NC and Mary (John) Brown of Gastonia, NC; two uncles: Willie (Debbie) Kennedy of Charlotte, NC and Darnell Kennedy of Gastonia, NC; five grandchildren: Mahogany, Terri, Mackenzie, Jamony and Javarus; one great grandchild on the way: Kennedi; life partner: Michael “Mixer” Pagan; special friends: Edwardo (Candy) Curry and Angela Durham of Gastonia, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral: Tuesday; June 8, 2021 at 12 noon at the United House of Prayer for all People, Gastonia
Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church
Interment: Kelly's Chapel Cemetery, Bessemer City
No viewing at the funeral home and no live streaming.
Masks are required.
