Odessa Jane Brandon Hardin was born on July 17, 1944, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Willis Brandon, Sr. and Leona Campbell Brandon. She departed this life on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, North Carolina. Odessa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family with her whole heart. Everyone treasured her smile and sweet spirit. She was educated in the Gaston County school system, graduating from Highland High School. Until her health declined, Odessa devotedly cleaned the church every week. She prided herself in the church looking its best. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lucius Brandon and Willis Brandon, Jr.; one sister, Shirley Brandon; one brother-in-law, Robert Hardin; and two sisters-in-law, Hattie Hardin Burris and Evelyn Degree. Heartfelt thoughts and prayers with the family. May the comfort of Lord fill your hearts with peace during this season.
To my family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your precious mom, wife, and grandmother was a beautiful delight to always be around. She was the "REAL DEAL." She could be funny and serious at the same time. She was loving, giving, and sweet as sugar. I'm truly going to miss talking to her, praying with her, crying with her and sharing with her. Family, her quiet, gentle, meek, humble and beautiful spirit has taken her final rest in Jesus. Let's get ready and stay ready to meet Queen Odessa in our home above the sky. From my heart to your hearts, I thank you all for sharing her with me. Rest in peace my beautiful cousin who was my mom too. Love, Paula Gardin! 🙏🏽❤️
