The ends you serve that are selfish will take you no further than yourself but the ends you serve that are for all, in common, will take you into eternity. --- Marcus Garvey
Ortavious Jermaine Lynch was born October 29,1989 in Charlotte, NC, and passed away at Atrium Health Hospital surrounded by his family. Ortavious was the son of Ms. Umeka Lynch and Lamar Crawford.
Ortavious worked as a devoted security guard. He was a man of many trades and enjoyed reading and science. He loved to write poetry and music, often referring to it as his passion and first love. Tavis was very loved and showed a lot of love towards his family and friends. It was very rare he met a stranger and if he cared about you then you knew it and if he did not care for you then you knew that too. He loved to laugh, sing, and was always making jokes. He had a way to make you laugh if you were sad, make you smile if you were angry, and provided encouragement if you felt weak. He had endured so much in life but still managed to pour into others. We are thankful for the time we were able to spend with Tavis and he will be missed. Forever a champion.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife; Melinda Lynch and son Traygus Mason, mother; Umeka Lynch, Father; Lamar Crawford, grandmother; Ann Foxx, godmother; Helen Armstrong, two brothers; Antonious Baxter, Keith Baxter, three sisters; Brittany Baxter, Malaysia Crawford, Torie Davie, niece and nephew; Londyn & Keiland Baxter and a host of other close friends and family.
