On February 28, 2021, Mrs. Verina Ellis departed this life on or around 8:00 a.m. at her home in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Verina Ellis was born on January 20, 1955 to the late James Crosby and the late Minnie McGill in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

She graduated from Kings Mountain High School in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She also attended Gaston College in Dallas, North Carolina where she received her certification for a certified nursing assistant as both one and two.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Lorraine Galloway, Margaret Sue Lawrence and Gonald Ray Galloway.

Verina leaves to cherish her love and memories to her children: Nathaniel R. Ellis of Gastonia, North Carolina, Carolyn Crosby of Gastonia, North Carolina and Elizabeth Ellis of Gastonia, North Carolina, Nathaniel Ellis, Jr. (Chantea), Brenda Hoggins of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Lucinda Ellis of Raleigh, North Carolina; special son: James E. Lawrence; one brother: Cedrick Crosby of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; one sister: Tonya Crosby; twenty-four grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Verina. I leave with you my love and peace for I will see you again.

Viewing at the funeral home on Monday; March 8, 2021 from 3 until 6

Funeral: Tuesday; March 9, 2021 at United House of Prayer for all People at 12:30

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia
