Obituary For William Floyd, Jr.

Mr. William E. Floyd, 73, was born March 2, 1949 in York County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday; October 5, 2002 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was the son of the late William G. Floyd and Margaret McClure Floyd.

William was a former member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Bowling Green, South Carolina. He was also known as “Butter” by all his friends, family and community. He worked for the railroad service for many years. Later, he worked for the City of Gastonia for over a decade. William was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School in Bessemer City, North Carolina. After retirement, he worked for Burger King and was well love by all.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brothers: Lynn A. Floyd and Bobby Lewis Floyd.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty years, Janice Floyd; three brothers: Larry E. Floyd (Tekola), Joe E. Floyd (Debbie), and David Floyd; four sisters: Margie F. Wilson, Milinda Nichols, Sherby J. Floyd, and Pamela E. Adams (Allen), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral on Wednesday; October 12, 2022 at the funeral home at 1:30 with thirty minute visitation before the service
