Obituary For William Lipscomb

William (Bill) Eugene Lipscomb was born on April 19, 1950, in Shelby NC to Mary Smith Lipscomb and Wilbert Lipscomb. Bill departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Hospital, in Gastonia NC.

Bill graduated from Shelby High School and then went to serve in the US Navy. Bill was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. And had recently been attending Sanctuary of Praise. Bill was employed by Wix Filter in Gastonia NC, where he worked many years and retired. He loved to read the word and was an avid San Francisco 49er fan. Bill loved his family and friends he enjoyed spending time with them. Bill never met a stranger, he had a great personality.

He liked working in his garden, and had a love for music, Bill had an extensive record collection, his favorite artist was Smokey Robinson. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Smith Lipscomb and Wilbert Lipscomb, brother Raymond Lipscomb and Brother In law, Herman Morrow.

Bill leaves to cherish precious memories; his loving wife of 32 years Linda A Lipscomb, to his six children whom he adored; William Weaver; Shalan Wilson; DeAunta Lipscomb; and Tyheita (Howard) Stewart Stepfather to: Okeevius Wallace, Tonika Wallace 13 grandchildren and one great grand. Sisters: Lottie Morrow, Ernestine Hamrick, Brenda Lipscomb, Melinda (Noah) Corry, Chinetta Lipscomb (Denorris) Sisters In laws; Brenda Wallace, Carlene Wallace, Brothers In Law: Harry (Cherrita), Carlee (Mary) Wallace and Donald Wallace. Lifelong Friend Ronald (Joe) Harrill and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Viewing at the funeral home on Friday; February 25, 2022 from 3 until 6

Funeral: Saturday; February 26, 2022 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, Gastonia at 1:00 p.m.

Visitation is thirty minutes before the service

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia
