She was later brought to Atlanta, Georgia where she attended Bethesda Christian Academy and continued her education at Miller Grove Middle School. In the fall of 1990, she developed an interest in playing the flute and later joined the Symphonic Band. Her hard work in music and academics continued when she transitioned to Redan High School. She continued to shine as a musician and became a member of the Redan Blue Thunder Marching Band. Artquella, as she was affectionately called, was well known around Redan as the girl with the infectious smile and the slow, soft spoken voice. While employed with State Farm Insurance and Target Store, her personality flourished. She also was employed with Comcast Cable as a telesales agent.
