Mrs. Catherine Pauline Ackey was born November 11, 1942 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Mr. Revoy and Mrs. Lillie Mae McDaniel. God called her home on December 12, 2006.

To her children, she as a provider, a teacher, and a devoted mother. To her siblings she was a dear precious sister. To her in-laws she was a wonderful friend. She was a dear aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her son Alonzo; her sisters Dorothy Ann McClure and Lottie Bell McCoy; brother, Jimmie Lee McDaniel.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Lewis Calvin “L.C.” Ackey; her son Stephen Calvin Ackey; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Helen Mahanary, of Dayton, OH and Mrs. Hazel Mae (Walter) Lynch of Riverdale, GA; two brothers, Mr. Willie Rayford McDaniel of Carrollton, GA and Mr. Revoy McDaniel of Dayton, OH; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Myrtice M. Ackey of Ellenwood, GA, Mrs. Sandra Ackey of Carrollton, GA, Mrs. Frances Ackey of Carrollton, GA; two brothers-in-law Robert Ackey and Charles Ackey of Carrollton, GA; two special Goddaughters, Lisa and Da’Sheena; a host of nieces, nephews, an aunt, an uncle, other relatives and friends.

To my Wife...

I’m thankful to God for the love we’ve shared For all you’ve said and done, That showed me how much you cared. You stood by me when things were bad, Put a smile on my face whenever I seemed sad. The Bible says that he who finds a wife finds a Good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. You have been my friend, tried and true, I will always be blessed because I’ve loved and lived life with you. ~Love Your Husband, Lewis

Don’t spend too much time mourning, tears are for the sad. I left to be with Jesus and this should make you glad. Don’t waste your time grieving, no need to feel distress. I was tired of life’s frustration and had to get some rest. Don’t vex yourself with questions, or try to reason why. Earthly life for me has ended; it came my time to die. Don’t lose the love I gave you, feed it with your care. Grow it with devotion and spread it everywhere. Don’t fret because my leaving came in such a way. We will have another meeting in God’s Eternal Day.

The family of Mrs. Catherine Pauline Ackey would like to thank everyone for their sincere concern for us during this hour of bereavement.
