The memorial service for Charles Robert (Bob) Dorsey will be noon Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1679 Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA. 30032. Rev. Dr. Victor J. Belton, Pastor. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Philadelphia native Bob Dorsey, raised in Palmyra, NJ, became a resident of Prince Georges County, MD and was a teacher there for 30 years. He also served as a board member of the Prince Georges County Teachers Association and later worked as a human relations specialist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Department of Commerce. An avid churchman and devoted bible student and teacher, Bob Dorsey served as an elder of Peace Lutheran Church, Washington, D.C., Peace Lutheran Church, Decatur, GA, and Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Stockbridge, GA. Bob Dorsey enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, and playing pinochle. Charles Robert Dorsey, 85, died peacefully at his College Park, GA residence on February 15, 2013. Those who cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara (Babs) Dorsey; daughter, Kerri Heywood; grandchildren, Quianna, Raymond, and Darian; other relatives and numerous friends and acquaintances who loved Bob as "Pop" and "Dad."
