Send flowers to the service of Mr. Christopher L. Beal
James Kenneth Staples sent Ocean Devotion for Mr. Christopher L. Beal - June 25, 2026
I would like to express my sincere condolences to Paula Beal and the Beal family members and also to Regina Brown on the loss of your family member.
Chris was certainly a man who left an imprint on his community which was even greater than his presence. I always enjoyed fellowshipping with Chris at church and during church activities.
Chris was talented in so many ways. I sometimes like to wear my "Girl Dad" shirt, but it was really Chris who was the epitome of a "Girl Dad". I remember Chris doing his daughters hair on the Children and Youth trips. That was a talent I never developed. Whenever I attempted to prepare Meyer for school, somehow her teachers always knew that Lisa was out of town.
I am thankful for knowing Chris and for the warmth that the Beal family showed to me. I suspect that Chris accepted me even though I am not originally from the south because I was smart enough to marry a woman from Louisiana whose family members all went to Southern.
I remember and was fond of the Creole dinners that Chris and the Beal family would put together at the church. Know that Lisa loved Chris's gumbo and there are very few gumbos that she rated that high.
Rest assured that Chris will live long in the memories of myself and others who had the good fortune to work with him, be mentored by him, or just have a chance to fellowship with him.
You and your family will be in my prayers during this difficult period.
Chris was one of the very first people I met upon joining Central UMC. He was always jovial and kept you smiling and laughing. I can't imagine him not being at church serving in his usual capacity. His light will always shine in my spirit.
Dear Mr. Beal,
I wanted to share a memory that has stayed with me for two decades. Years ago, I came to you venting and complaining about how disrespectful the students were being. You completely changed my perspective and showed me that it's never personal.
I'll never forget one of the first students I sent to your office. She was completely out of line. Instead of losing your cool, you simply looked at her and asked, "What's wrong? You don't like Mr. Collins? I don't like him either." I watched in absolute amazement as the student's guard dropped, she proceeded to tell on herself, and then you calmly suspended her for three days.
In that exact moment, you taught me the most valuable lesson of my career: most of what students say and do has nothing to do with us. Your words reminded me to always "keep the main thing, the main thing"—teaching and supporting the kids. That single piece of wisdom is the reason I have been able to stay in this profession for 20 years. I am forever grateful for your mentorship, your wisdom, and the incredible impact you made on my life. You will be deeply missed.
With deepest sympathy,
Mr. Collins
My deepest condolences to the family of Christopher L. Beal. Chris was one of my good friends growing up with me in the Methodist Church in Baton Rouge where we participated in many activities in the Youth department. I will miss talking and debating with him on many different issues.
Our hearts are with your family as you grieve the loss. We pray that God's presence brings you peace beyond understanding, strength for each new day, and comfort in the precious memories you shared. May you find hope in His promises and rest in knowing that love leaves an everlasting legacy.
With love and prayers,
Christian & Ernesha West

Coach Beal you will truly be missed and never forgotten. Thank you for everything.
