Obituary For Mr. Joel L. Davis
On July 15,1950, a bundle of joy was born to Joel Sr. and Dorothy E. Davis. Joel a native of Atlanta, Georgia, attended Berean Christian Academy and later went to Henry McNeil Turner High School. After high school, Joel attended Morris Brown College.
He loved life and enjoyed doing a variety of things including playing tennis, basketball, cards, dancing, watching westerns, weird flicks, and listening to old-school music. He was also an amateur magician, he loved comics books and hot dogs.
Joel once stated that "my life changed when i met a big-legged, girl from Mississippi" referring to his future wife, LaDori Bias. The two married, and from their union came two children, Zaundra and Jhermond.
Althought he was an only child, after marrying Ladoris, Joel inherited a wealth of family including five brothers and five sisters, several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, in laws, and many cousins. Has also blessed to have been lovingly "adopted" by the Delaney and Sutton family.
His Career included working several years for Citizen and Southern(C&S) Bank, the Atlanta Journal- Constitution and Eventually working at and retiring from the global information processing giant, Pitney Bowen's.
Joel transitioned from this life on Friday, September 1,2017. Joel leaves many to mourn his memory including his devoted wife: LaDoris Bias-Davis; daughyter: Zaunder (William) Faulker; son: Jermond L. Davis; "play son" and wife Justin(Nicole) Cotton; grandson; Anthony and Avery Showell; god-children: Dwight( Stephania) Green, Daria (Travis) Dickerson, Brittany (Cardell) Smith, Daramust Darby, and Ramon Sutton. He will be sorely missed by his family.

My condolences in the loss of your loved one. I would like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible. The pain of grief we feel when our loved ones die can sometimes be unbearable. The comforting words from our heavenly father Jehovah found at Isaiah 25:8; He (God) will swallow up death forever. And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe the tears from all faces, and Psalm 34:18; Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit, will help you to cope with the grief and sadness now and in the days ahead.
To the Davis family: In this most difficult time. May you all find comfort and strength in the loving and kind words of Jehovah found at 1 Corinthians 15:26. You have my have my deepest and sincere sympathy.
