Obituary For Mr. Marvin Thrasher
Mr. Marvin Thrasher, was born September 1, 1958 in Atlanta, GA to the late Ben Thrasher Jr. and the late Marvel E. Thrasher.
He was called home on Monday, February 27, 2017. Marvin graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1977, and was active in several sports, like baseball and football. After graduating he worked for the City of Atlanta and DeKalb County, in addition to volunteering for several years as a Little League football coach.
Marvin was loved by the players, whom often referred to him as Coach Hot, and served as their mentor. Marvin was a fun person to be around, loved his daughter Tiffany, siblings, and nieces and nephews whom had the pleasure of having their own special nickname.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter Tiffany Nicole Thrasher, and four sisters Charlotte (Horace) Jordan, Eva Thrasher, Robin (Jeffrey) Moreland, and Toni (Anthony) Wright, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Im Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life's been full, I savoured much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. I am very sorry for your loss. May you take comfort in knowing that Marvin is only asleep in death and that soon Jesus will awaken him. (John 11:11-14) In Gods new Kingdom for which we pray, we will never have to mourn the loss of our loved ones again. (Matt. 6:10; Psalm 37:11, 29; Rev. 21:4) I hope this brings you peace.
I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to the Thrasher family. Losing a loved one is never easy. However, the Bible offers a wonderful hope in that we will see these precious ones again soon (John 5:28,29). May the god of all comfort strengthen you during this most difficult time.
