This is Vincent again I left a heart felt message last year I have thought of Robert often over the last 65 years, that big smile and a great heart. I still remember how he would try to challenge me in gym even though he was 25 lbs smaller that never stopped him, just tell his loved ones that he was a good man but I'm sure you all know that. My Uncle Bob was always Uncle Poopy in our house. To me he was a fishing buddy with my Dad and I, a master 'storyteller' and the uncle who fixed everything. Decades ago in college my car broke down and he and my father showed up at my apartment in DC with a new engine and their tools in the back of the car. They replaced the old engine that afternoon with Uncle Bob mostly yelling at me to get out of the way. The last time I saw him was on my porch celebrating my mother and father with most of our beautiful extended family. He was a little slower than I remembered him but his voice was still unmistakable- somewhere between a smile and growl and I loved hearing it. I watched him a lot that night, he was as I will always remember him- happy to be with the people who loved him and happy to have an audience for those stories about who he was and where he'd been and what he'd done when he was there. My name is Vincent Jovino I had the privilege of knowing Robert in high school, he always had special place in my heart, we were both good athletes and often compete against each other he always had a big smile, plus he always told me I was something else. I knew his brother also, who was a singer.
