Spencer Kellison Doane died on luxurious satin sheets in his home on July 23rd, 2019. He joined The 27 Club, and your boy is definitely jamming out with Kurt Cobain. Spencer was born in Anchorage, Alaska to Tara Coyle and Jeffrey Scott Doane on August 4th, 1991. He lived in Gardner, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2008. He attended Gardner-Edgerton High School and Walton High School. He was attending Georgia State University, where he was studying philosophy with the intention of going on to law school and pursuing a career as a public defender. He was working as a line cook at Gato Bizco CafÄ—, where he fed people breakfasts full of love. He was a Leo sun, Gemini moon, Capricorn rising. Spencer brimmed with love and gratitude for the people in his life. Countless friends of Spencer insist that he was more than just their friend--he was their brother. Spencer engaged with the people in his life consciously, ensuring that he left each person he met better than he found them. He certainly did. He made a point to not waste a second with any person, but saturate every moment with life. He paid his entire attention to every tiny thing the world had to offer. Incredibly sentimental, he held onto numerous trinkets--a ring found on a sidewalk, a picture of a friend, a flower from a walk--to preserve every possible experience and emotion he could squeeze out of life. He lived fast and he lived hard and he loved so, so much. He loved art, poetry, skateboarding, music, junk food, and coffee. He could pull off a wifebeater like no one else. He was an effortless paragon of taste in everything that he enjoyed, from books to music, art to film. He loved Don DeLillo and Albert Camus, Frank Zappa and the Wu-Tang Clan, Anselm Kiefer and Andrew Wyeth, Harmony Korine and Charlie Kaufman. Spencer created prolifically, writing many songs and poems over the course of his life, but he wanted to be the ultimate audience. He wanted a front row seat to his friendships, to breathe in what his friends created. Spencer is joining on the astral plane his father Jeffrey Scott Doane, grandfathers Kenneth Kellison and Bert Doane, and grandmother Laura Doane. He is survived in the hearts of his lover Katherine Beaman, mother Tara Coyle and partner Lee Robinson, sister Hillary Doane, brother Jack Coyle, sister-in-law Jill Coyle, sister Madeline Mudd, nephew Nolan Doane, mother-in-law Martha Beaman, father-in-law James Beaman, grandmother Mary Kellison, uncle and aunts Kenny and Debbie Kellison, Randy and Pam Doane, stepmother Marcie Mudd, cousins Andrew Kellison, Kale and Shayla Hoffman, Hadley Doane, and Hayden Doane, as well as friends innumerable. He was 27 and never learned to draw.
