Obituary For Mrs. Beatrice Daniel Worthy Jackson

“We remember with love…” Early Sunday morning, on March 14, 2010, Jesus Christ went to his garden and picked one of his precious flowers…..

Beatrice Daniel Worthy Jackson was born June 19, 1911 in Madison, Georgia to the late Mr. Sam Daniel and Mrs. Mary Lee Ward Daniel. She was the second of eight children.

She was born at a time when work took priority over going to school. She was a dedicated worker at Morningside Baptist Church for more than 25 years; thereby, setting an example for her seven girls that working was the right thing to do.

She was a dedicated registered voter who hardly missed the opportunity to help make a difference.

Church was always in her heart and she joined Cathedral of Faith C.O.G.I.C. on December 24, 1987, and made it her church home. Even after her challenges, Cathedral of Faith supported her through their outreach ministries for more than 10 years. That was a relationship that only Jesus could have brought together.

She cared for others and she gave unselfishly, loved her family, friends, and most of all, she loved the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Jackson; both parents; her two brothers, James and Sam Daniel; her three sisters, Martha Lewis, Annie Holsey, and Mable Newell; her two daughters, Sarah Hood and Claudia Cofer; her two grandsons, Eric Bernard Freeman and Wayne Cofer.

She is survived by five daughters, Annie Freeman, Mary Holcomb, Gloria Jackson Lewis, Glenda Davis, and Tommie Jackson; twenty six grandchildren; sixty eight great grandchildren; eighty eight great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In the words of our Mother “If you’re above the dirt, you can make it work.” Stay encouraged and continue to cast your cares unto the hills……
