In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Elizabeth Mims. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 1:00 PM at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. Visitation will be Monday September 21, 2020 12:00 until 6:00 pm.
Elizabeth M. Mims, of Atlanta Georgia passed away on September 10, 2020. She was born on January 1,1944 in Taliaferro County, Crawfordville Georgia to the late Mr. Porter and Mrs. Osie Moreland.
Elizabeth was educated in the Taliaferro County School System. She retired in 2006 from the State of Georgia Juveniles Services. After Retirement, she volunteered at the Easter Seals Daycare program as a grandparent until 2018. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She was preceded her in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Randolph and Mrs. Gay Ola Williams; one brother, Ralph Moreland.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories to her loving daughter Melissa Drake Hemingway (Michael) of Stockbridge, Georgia; one son, Byron James Moreland of Stone Mountain Georgia; three grandchildren, Michael D. Hemingway, Byron J. Moreland Jr., and Danielle Jones; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends.
