I had the pleasure of working with Erica through her work for Bayer Crop Science, one of Porter Novelli's biggest clients. She was a key player on a lot of complex projects, always handling an ocean of detail with grace and grit and that ever-present smile. She was as smart as she was sweet. The last exchange we had involved me teasing her that I couldn't see her face on a Zoom call. I looked forward to every time I got to work with her. Erica's untimely passing hits us all hard at Bayer, and our hearts go out to her beloved husband, family and friends.

I remember Erica as a shy, sweet, beautiful little girl when her family lived in Roanoke, Va. Our Deepest Condolences and prayers for peace that surpasses all understanding to the family of Erica Smith and to the family of Monique Johnson. I had the pleasure of working with Erica at Jackson Spalding. Seeing her adventures and accomplishments in the years since inspired me -- she truly lived life to the fullest and shared her joy far and wide. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Everyone who had an opportunity to meet Erica has a part of their heart missing today. Such a vibrant, intelligent, and loving young lady. I remember a beautiful little girl who I use to watch for Lisa in Shreveport, LA. She had a smile that would light up a room and a vibrant personality. I had the opportunity to meet Erica twice - very intelligent and giving person. I believe the best I can share is that her friend and mentor who happens to be my daughter (D Haley) described her as "light and love". What a beautiful tribute and a never-ending legacy.
