In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Freddie Seacrease. Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 11:00am at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. Graveside service will be held in Shreveport, LA on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Lincoln Memorial Park, 11:00am. Live Streaming on Grissom-Clark Funeral Home website.
Freddie Mae McCray Seacrease was born to the late Fred McCray and Dorothy Langston on December 13, 1939 in Shreveport, LA. She received Christ at an early age and joined Samuel Chapel Baptist Church and later Second Street Baptist Church, then Turner Chapel AME in Marietta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred McCray and Dorothy Langston, three sisters: Alice McCray, Robbie Lee Durkee and Evelyn Smalley.
At Second Street Baptist Church she was a Sunday School teacher, youth director, culinary leader and Deaconess. She received her early education in Caddo Parish School System graduating with honors from Booker T. Washington High School in 1959. She was an Eastern Star. She worked as a nurse assistant at Boyd Clinic, employed by BellSouth, worked as a voter assistant and Daycare Owner.
She married Willie Lee Seacrease in 1960. They divorced 29 years later in 1989.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, four daughters: Dr. Rhonda Seacrease-Green (Patrick), Tomeca Seacrease-Brown (Robert) both of Georgia, Shunita Seacrease of Waldorf, MD and Uronnica Seacrease of Houston, TX. Five grandkids: Niya, Navian, Sydni, Makayla and Robert all of Georgia. Four Siblings: Doris Jean Rollins, Dr. Brenda Richardson, Lena Patterson and Lonnie McCray (Rosa) all of Shreveport, LA.
She also leaves a lasting legacy on a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
