Obituary For Mrs. Marilyn McDowell

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose Under the heaven; a time to be born and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted” ~Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2

Mrs. Marilyn Jackson McDowell was born August 19, 1947 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to the late Mrs. Mamie Holmes and Mr. William Jackson.

Marilyn grew up in Arkansas and attended Cotton Plant High School. After high school she furthered her education at The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She worked on the Army Military Bases around the Country.

Marilyn got married and moved to Georgia. Later she joined Cathedral of Faith COGIC where she volunteered her services and was actively involved with the Tape Ministry, Youth Ministry, Usher Board, Girl & Boy Scouts, Teen Choir, and Sunday School Department.

After thirty years of working, she retired from Bellsouth as a Customer Service Representative.

She was truly loved by her family. God saw that she was getting weary, so He did what He knew was best, He came and stood beside her and whispered, “COME AND REST”. Marilyn entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Benjamin McDowell, Sharon McDowell, and Carla McDowell; four grandchildren, Brian McDowell, Elisecyah McDowell, Isis McDowell, Imani McDowell; one great grandchild, Timaya McDowell; one sister, Mrs. Linda Mason; three brothers, Mr. William Jackson, Mr. Charles Jackson and Mr. Malcom Jackson; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“TRUSTING”

There’s a freedom in trusting God. Unafraid to face the unknown; Being able to love those He’s given But knowing we have to let go. We learn to let go, In spite of our fears; We grow to new life But trusting in God. There’s strength to be gained by our failings, Courage to see through the pain, Growth is found only through the risking; We stumble, yet faith shows the way. We learn to let go, In spite of our fears; We grow to new life By trusting in God
