Mrs. Marjah A. Flowers passed. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12 noon Saint Phillips AME church 240 Candler Road Atlanta Ga 30317. Interment will follow Melwood Cemetery 5170 E Ponce de Leon Ave. Stone Mountain, GA 30083. Marjah Algene Fisher was born into this world on March 16, 1935 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She was the eldest of 4 children. Her parents were Allen Fisher Sr . and Sarah Theresa Fisher. "Aljean" (as she was called by everyone) grew up as the light of her parents' eyes and was literally the sweeth eart of Clarksdale, Mississippi. Algene accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and wa s baptized at Haven United Methodist Church. In 1953 at the age of 18 years old,Algene graduated from The Clarksdale Public School District in Clarksdale, Mississippi. On June 1,1953 Algene Fisher married Johnnie Flowers, which was a marriage that lasted more than 56 years. This union was blessed with five children, The Reverend Jacquelyn V. White, Ronald Barri, Johnnie Henry, Limuel Benet and Dorian Rommel.After their marriage in 1953, Mr. and Mrs. Flowers relocated to Detroit,Michigan. Johnnie and Algene were partners in a number of businesses in Detroit for more than 40 years. In 1962, their family joined St. Paul A ME Zion Church in Detroit, where her children were all baptized. Algene sang in a number of choirs, including the Cathedral Choir, where she was featured as a soprano soloist for more than 50 years. Algene was also a member of the Hattie James Missionary Society as well as other boards at St. Paul. Algene received her Associates Degree at Wayne County Community College in 1974, continuing her education at Wayne State University. As a woman, and child of God, Algene raised her children to show, give, and share love. As such, her five children all loved and respected their Mother with a love that few have ever known. Algene had a profound love for her family and fr iends and was known for her infectious laugh, and warm and loving spirit. So many people were grateful for meeting her, knowing her, and calling her their friend. Among her many hobbies were gardening and reading. She was also a gifted pianist. Her love for music included gospel, classical, and jazz. On February 26, 2010, Algene's husband of more than 56 years Johnnie Flowers Sr . was called home to be with the Lord. Algene moved to Atlanta,Georgia shortly after to live with her daughter and son-in-law,Jacquelyn and Terry White. While in Atlanta, Algene become a member of St. Phillip AM E Church. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In the early morning of November 7, 2018 after 83 years on God's good Earth, Marjah Algene Flowers was called home to be with the Lord our God. Mrs.Marjah Algene Flowers was preceded in death by her Husband Johnnie Henry Flowers Sr.; Her Parents Allen Fisher Sr. and Sarah Theresa Fisher; Her Brother Allen (Sonny) Fisher Jr.; Her Sisters Sonja Henie Betts; lona Ruth Hemphill and her Cousin/Sister Ray Kinsey. Left on this Earth to cherish her memory are her Daughter The Reverend Jacquelyn V.White (Terry);Ronald Barri Flowers (Helen);Johnnie Henry Flowers Jr. (Kristine); Limuel Benet Flowers (Monique);and Dorian Rommel Flowers;her Grandchildren Terry Rodruel White (Ava); Corey Trineul White (Angie);Kendre Nichole Scales (Keith); and Keeare Marjah White; and her great grandchildren Ella White, Jordan White,tan Scales, Eli Scales,as well as a host of cousins,nieces, nephews and loving friends. A special goodbye to Cousins Peggy Shields and Mike Wilson,the last of the fourth generation of The Fisher Family.
