Obituary For Mrs. Mary G. Malcom

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Mary G. Malcom on August 25, 2020. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 01, 2020 11:00 am at Resthaven Gardens of Memory 2284 Candler Rd. Decatur, GA 30032. Visitation will be Monday September 01, 2020 12:00 until 7:00 pm.Mrs. Mary Gibson Malcom was born on March 5, 1942 to the late Mattie L. Jones and Johnny Gibson in Butts County, Jackson, Georgia.

The family moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1944. Mary was educated in the Atlanta Public Schools graduating from Price High School. At the loving age of twelve, she become the secretary/ treasurer of the shy Temple CME Church.

After Completing high school, she worked various domestic jobs. Later in life, she was employed at The Oaks in Buchhead and became a conscientious and devoted supervisor. Her life was one of joy and she enjoyed music and playimg the numbers with her friends. The Georgia Lottery knew her name, LOL. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids.

Mary was called home August 25 2020. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Mary L. Jones; father, Johnny Gibson; husband, John Willis Malcom. granddaughter, Chika Njoku and son, Eric T. Gibson.

She Leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Carla Malcom, Bridgette Njoku and Tracey Gibson; sisters, Gwen (Edward) Arnold; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four nephews; one great niece, host of family and friends. Mary, we miss you!!
