Mrs. Sallie Mae Harris Passed. Mrs. Sallie Harris born April 2, 1936, to the late Eugene and Exie Alexander in Abbeville South Carolina. She attended Mt Carmel Methodist Church in Anderson South Carolina at an early age where Reverend Pipkins was Pastor and attended Reed Street High School in Anderson S.C. At age 18 Sallie decided to venture out with her son Donnie Harris and relocate to Philadelphia PA where she resided with her brother Willie Alexander. After a brief stay Philadelphia just did not feel like home. She continued her journey to Chicago, IL to live with her other brother Robert Alexander and made Chicago her new home. There she was united in holy matrimony to Floyd Lewis Harris for 41 years. Sallie had a great life in Chicago. She welcomed everyone as if they were family. Everyone knew they were always welcome to come to Sallie’s house for a good hot meal, she would feed any and every one (OH HOW THEY LOVED HER MACRONI CHEESE AND SWEET POTATO PIES)!!! She could clean and decorate a house like no body’s business. Although she treated everyone like family, her children were the most important people in her life. So, when her youngest two decided to take a journey south to make Decatur, Georgia their home and one became sick, without hesitation she packed her bags and made Georgia her new home. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers Charlie Alexander (Dorothy) and Otis Alexander, 3 sisters Mary Louise Greer (Edgar Lee) Carolyn Alexander, and Barbara Jean Alexander and 1 granddaughter Lashekwa Trinette. She is survived by her son Donnie Harris (Theresa) 3 daughters Angele Tillman(Wilson), Valerie Harris and Kemberly Harris, 2 brothers Robert Alexander (Susie), and Willie Alexander, 14 grandchildren Natasha (Cory), Donnie (LaShawnda), Donnieka (Donnell), Justin (Lizbely), Jermaine, Monique, Kaliyah, Takeisha, Daniel, Tenisha, Czahki (Jasmine), LaDarien (Nanyamka,) Marshaun, and Kemon , 28 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
