Mrs. Wolna Aly Pauyo was greatly loved by her family and friends. She left this world on July 4th, 2009 to be with the Lord at the age of 77 years old.
Wolna was born in the town of Bainet, Haiti on February 28th, 1932. She attended school and spent her early age in this town. She was born the fourth of thirteen children. She left behind two siblings; her sister, Eracia Aly Riffin and her brother Lucien Aly. Wolna was a successful seamstress and she openly shared her trade with many grateful students. When Wolna moved to Port-au-Prince, she met with Mr. Frederick Pauyo who became the love of her life. They married on May 8th, 1957, and their eleven children were the fruit of that union. She was survived by her seven children; Jean Marie Fred Pauyo, Frederick Pauyo, Clelia Badio, Hyguette Pauyo, Antoine Pauyo, Pierrette and Pierre Pauyo.
A shadow of sorrow was cast on their family when her husband passed away on November 19th, 1980 but the loss simply strengthened her faith in God. Wolna migrated to the United States in 1996 to be with her children. She constantly traveled back and forth trying to please all her children to the best of her capability.
She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren; Jessin, Stanley, Thamara, Gloria, Marie Wolna, Genilia, Pouchina, Carla, Abraham, Jennifer, Kenny-B, Ralph Jr., Alexandra, and Asheley- Pierre, and Fredericka.
Wolna Aly Pauyo was a woman of joy, patience, love, and undeniable strength. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and we all know her spirit will live on no matter what.
