Obituary For Ms. Eva Mae Thomas
Mrs. Eva Mae Thomas passed.Eva Mae Thomas was born the first of 11 children to Edward Thomas Sr. and the late Gladys Morgan Thomas on February 18, 1947 in Locust Grove, GA. Named by her Grandfather, Bue C. Morgan. Eva was born to a family of 5 uncles for neither parent had a sister. One of her brothers, Eugene preceded her in death. Nicknamed Boochie by her mother, this name lasted thru life with many people still calling her by this name.
Family was very important to her. She took pride in her 6 sisters and 4 brothers, always having a story to tell them about their family life.
After her brother Edward Jr was borne the family moved to Southwest Detroit and in 1955 moved to Detroit West side, Lawton Avenue. By then she had 2 brothers and 2 sisters with another one sister born in 1955 after the move. She lived in this house until 1965. Eva attended church at Morning View Baptist Church with her sisters and brothers.
Eva attended and graduated from Northwestern High School, in 1965. She was the secretary of her Senor class. Eva graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1977 and worked as a Registered Nurse.
Eva met and married Leonard Williams as we always teased her by calling him the boy across the street where she was raised on Lawton Avenue, one child, Teresa Williams, was born to this union. In 1978 Eva and her daughter moved to College Park, GA. Eva later married Albert Wiggins Jr. , one child, Brent Colin Wiggins, was born to this union.
In 2015 Eva married Edward Williams and no children were born to this union.
Eva worked as a Registered Nurse until she retired on December 14, 2014.
Eva was a wonderful and loving person and was admired by everyone who met her. She loved her family, children and friends. She will be missed very much. Her smile, laugh, and her sense of humor.
On January 26, 2017, Eva went home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memories: her father Edward Thomas SR of Bay City, MI. Her 6 sisters, Evelyn (Sidney) Kirby of Virginia Beach, VA, Elnora Price of Lithonia, GA, Sandra Thomas of Conyers, GA, Debra Thomas of Roswell, GA, Jacqueline Colton of Lithonia, GA and Tammie Thomas of Snellville, GA. 3 brothers, Edward (Cheryl) Thomas JR of Snellville, GA, Stephen Thomas of Detroit, MI and Christopher Thomas of Conyers, GA. One daughter, Teresa Williams of McDonough, GA, one son, Brent Colin (Octavies) of Covington, GA, two long lifetime friends, JC Flint of West Bloomfield, MI and Electra Scott of Detroit, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins friends and other relatives.

To the Thomas Family: We are truly sorry to hear about the passing of Eva Mae. Thomas. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. There is no doubt that Eva was loved and respected by many. It is clear that she had traits that drew others to her. We learn this from the many shared expressions about her. Yes she was admired and love by other. It was only natural for this affection to take place since she was warm and friendly; and her great smile only added to the equation of people wanting to be around her. If we as imperfection human saw the good traits of Eva, rest assured that God has saw them also. God never forgets people of this makeup. Why is this good to know seeing that Eva has died? Well death can be reverses. The scriptures clearly tells us that God is the source of all created life. Yes it can be restored. In brief here is this promise from God. God tells us that He would soon call to those in the grave, who would hear His voice and stand up in life again. (John 5:28-29) So remember the promise. God does not lie, (Titus 1:2)
I am very sorry for your loss. However, Almighty God has provided a guarantee of a resurrection to all people in His memory by resurrecting Jesus from the dead. (Psalm 83:18; Acts 17:31) We will be able to see our loved ones again on a restored earth. (Psalm 37:11, 29) I hope this brings you peace.
