In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Ms. Sandra (Nana) Mosely. Sandra Jean Mosely, born in Atlanta, GA on July 16, 1944, was the only child to Helen & Washington Cobb (both have preceded her in death) Aside from many visits to her family in Detroit and Jackson, GA - “the country” - Atlanta was always home! She attended Slater Elementary School and graduated from Price High School. Afterward, she attended Morris Brown College. Her career fields included work in Social Services and Accounting. She worked for Richway Department Store (now Target) and retired from American Health Consultants. Her dedication and reliability earned her the respect of colleagues and team leaders alike. Developing a spiritual hunger, she became a member of World Changers in 1992. Her love for music was demonstrated throughout her tenure with the Atlanta Masonic Choir Remnant, and the Anointed Instruments of Praise. At the time of her death, she was a member of The Glory House of Atlanta under the leadership of Apostle Timothy A.C. Cox. There she served as the administrator. Her first marriage to Grady Bryant brought forth a son, Grady Thomas Bryant, Jr. (Sheila) Having become a widow, she later wed Willie Henry Mosely. From that union came seven children - Kimberly Charsette Norris (Dewayne); Willis Wardell Mosely (Calisa); Marquis Mosely (Kelly);Christopher Damon Mosely; Colette Patrice Banks (Justin); Nichelle LaShea Dennis (DeCarlos); Jonathan Lynn Mosely. She always said, “a mother has enough love for each child, no matter how many you have!” These children blessed her with additional progeny - 31 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memories a loving, supportive life partner of 37 years - Regenia Sims and her son, Reginald Dixon in addition to a host of cousins, friends, and spiritual brothers and sisters . It is important to note that her love was not limited to the ones she birthed. In fact, there are quite a few “other children” who chose to adopt her as their own. To this day it is not uncommon to hear these ones refer to her as “My Nana” as if she were theirs alone! So, who was Sandra Mosely? Throughout her life, she acquired loyal friends and “other children” to fill her heart. She was easy to respect and dearly loved. Why? She was candid with unshakable conviction in her beliefs. For example, one would quickly learn not to ask any question for which one did not want a truthful reply. She’d reason, “What? Am I supposed to just lie to you? Oh alright then!” looking past you before bringing her eyes back to meet yours. Also, one could count on her for guidance delivered her way. You knew that she was about to impart sound reasoning when she began tapping on the table and saying “Listen, listen. . .” And, who didn’t benefit from those sincere, yet direct expressions of wisdom? These were but a couple of her traits that endeared her to many. Therefore the titles: Momma, Gumma, My Nana, Moe, even Miz Mo’ely fit her perfectly! Whatever the title of choice, the love and respect she gained from others will never diminish and she will be deeply missed.
