Mrs. Verna Carol Davis, was born in Lenoir County on March 23, 1954 to Rueben James Davis and Mary Alice Davis. She departed this earthly journey on Thursday, August 6, 2009.

Carol attended the Lenoir County Public School System. She was employed at Caswell Center for seven years and was later employed by Smithfield Packing foreighteen years. She then moved to Stone Mountain, GA in November, 2005 where she started working at 'Vendor's Repair until July 16, 2009.

She leaves cherished memories to four daughters: Carolyn (Boyd) Harris of LaGrange, NC, Commicha Roberson of Georgia, Karen (Tony) Wooten of Kinston, NC, and Shavonda Black of LaGrange, NC; her mother: Mary Alice Davis of Kinston, NC; one brother: James Davis of Kinston, NC; three sisters: Marie Ellison of Georgia, Linda (Kenneth) Thompson of Kinston, NC and Doris (Johnny) Waters of Kinston, NC; and she also leaving precious memories to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of which were her pride and joy.
