Obituary For Norma Jeanette Kee Crayne

Norma J. Crayne (nee Kee) was the second daughter born to the late Floyd T. Sr. and Anna E. Kee in Newark, New Jersey on May 9, 1926. She joined her oldest sister and five brothers with joyful arms of love. Norma was affectionately known as "Nunie" among the eight children of the Kee family.

Norma attended Newark Public Schools and served as a family mentor to her siblings. She was always the organizer, the fixer, the main go-to person for family events, picnics, parties etc. A skill forever maintained throughtout life.

Norma was courted by her favorite beau, David A. Crayne, who possessed a special charm. They married on December 1, 1945. Their wedding was a joyous celebration among the entire family. Norma and Dave were sooned joined by a precious daughter, Cheryl, who had her father's charm and truly "worked it". She is the delight of the family.

Norma and Dave's home was the gathering place for many family functions. Thanksgivings, Christmases, Birthdays, and Norma's parents fiftieth wedding anniversary. They were the consummate host and hostess!

Upon Norma and Dave's retirement, they relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to join their daughter and granchildren. They celebrated their fiftieth anniversary there, and saw the family continue to grow, great grand by great grand Norma was devoted to family. Upon Dave's passing in April, 2000, she continued to delight in learning new skills and growing with the "grands".

Sadly, Norma left us suddenly on Saturday morning, May 31, 2008. Her memory will be cherished forever. She was pre-deceased by her husband of fifty-four years, her parents, and her five brothers.

Norma is survived by her daughter Cheryl L. Williams, three grandchildren: Gabrielle and Omar Phillips, Malcolm and Lisa Christopher, Deirdre A. Dennis, Paul Dennis all of Atlanta, Georgia; ten great-granchildren; two sisters: Florence M. Hickman, East Orange, New Jersey, Vivian and Robert Lampkin, Cedar Grove, New Jersey; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Kee of East Orange, New Jersey and Elnora M. Kee Of Louisville, Kentucky; neices Phyllis H. Goodwin of Newark, New Jersey , Dr. Brenda Kee of Loiusville, Kentucky; and a host of othere neices, nephews, cousins,and friends.
