Mrs. Sylvia B. Jenkins, of College Park, Georgia, passed March 4, 2012. A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Sylvia B. Jenkins of College Park will be 11:00am Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Impacting A Generation Community Church, 2288 Fairburn Road, Atlanta, 30331, Bishop Odis Sneed, Pastor, Officiating. Her remains will lie in state one hour before the service. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence at 10:00am. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, 30349. Visitation Friday, March , 212 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Grissom-Clark Funeral Home, 227 East Lake Dr., S.E. Mrs. Sylvia Bush Jenkins, the sixth child of the late Pastor Willie C. Bush and Gladys A. Bush, was born in February 1, 1948 in Gadsden, Alabama. During the late afternoon hours of Sunday, March 4, 2012, surrounded by loving family and friends, Sylvia quietly and serenely exchanged this life for eternal peace after a long illness. She was raised in a home full of love, infused with a strong Christian faith, as evident by her kind heart and love of laughter.

Sylvia was united in holy matrimony to William Ernest Jenkins on September 14, 1967. To this union one child was born, Nicki Burnell Jenkins. She was a great wife and mother, who had a special bond with her husband and daughter. They helped to care for her in her final days of illness.

Sylvia, a graduate of Kentucky State University, spent most of her professional life as a Casework Supervisor and Area Director with the Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services. After retiring in 1996, she volunteered assisting the elderly by fulfilling their needs with respect and compassion. She was active in her church and served her community for many years.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her loving parents, Willie C. and Gladys Bush; brothers, Edwin, Sheldon Wayne, and James Eugene Bush; brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Carlisle, Jr. and Calvin Bonner; and nephews, Eric Bush and Roosevelt Carlisle, Jr.

Among those who grieve Sylvias passing, yet will cherish many loving and funny memories, are her husband, Ernest; daughter, Nicki, Atlanta, GA; sisters, Forina M.
