Alexis Cortez Allen Lee 70, of Sellers St., Martinsville, VA transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her residence surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Bluefield, VA on March 27, 1950, the daughter of the late Glenwood Allen, SR, and the late Josephine Woods Allen.
Alexis graduated from Park Central High School in 1969. She then attended and graduated from Mercer County Technical School as a L.P.N.
Alexis married Sidney Theo Lee June 17, 1972. They have been married for 48 years.
Alexis is survived by, her husband, Sidney Lee of the residence; her daughter, Cynthia Lee of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Glenwood Allen, JR. of Denver, CO; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Alexis was a member of the Martinsville Seventh Day Adventist Church in Martinsville, VA.
She enjoyed being a part of the local civic and religious activities. She enjoyed attending church, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a kindhearted and soft-spoken person. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Pastor Luis Beltre Eulogist. Burial will be private. The family will be receiving friends at the home, 127 Sellers St., Martinsville, VA.

Sweet Cynthia , beloved Alexis and our mutual amazing friend Shirley Holland brought joy to my home with their presence in 2013. I did not know that I would never see Alexis again. She sent me at thoughtful note of condolence when my late father was memorialized. I shall always remember her sweet smile and when I first met her at Genoa Jr High. School.
