It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony D. Swanson, 37, of Petersburg, VA, and formally of Martinsville, who departed this life on Wednesday, April 15,2026, at Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA.
He was born January 3, 1989, in Stuart, VA to Greg Campbell and Olecia Swanson.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Greg Campbell and Olecia Swanson; two brothers, T'Shaun Swanson and Tyler Swanson both of Martinsville, VA; three sisters, Diona Swanson of Martinsville, VA, Ania Carson of Norfolk, VA and Alexus Carson of Winston Salem, NC; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Campbell of Martinsville, VA; maternal grandparents, Joyce D. Grant and Lawrence J. Swanson, Sr. both of Martinsville, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. Interment will follow at the Grant Family Cemetery, 2630 A.L. Philpott Hwy, Axton, VA.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Larneil Grant, 816 Royal Dr., Martinsville.
