On Friday, January 31, 2025, Antione M. Swanson 17, of McCoy St., Martinsville transitioned peacefully from this earthly life at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC. He was born in Leesburg, VA on July 10, 2007, to LaTasha Jackson and the late Christopher A. Swanson.
In addition to his father, Antione was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Glinda Dandridge Harper.
Antione was a member of Meadow Christian Church. He was an early graduate of Martinsville High School class of 2025, while at Martinsville High School, Antione participated in the Basketball program. During his freshman year, Antione played Football and ran Track for Magna Vista High School. He was a cashier at Food Lion, Greensboro Rd., Martinsville.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, LaTasha Jackson of the home; one sister, Mariah Mose of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Kyron Swanson of Bassett, VA; paternal grandfather, Glenwood Swanson of Sterling, VA; maternal grandparents, Andrew Jackson, Jr. of Ashburn, VA, and Lisa Ballard of Brown Summitt, NC; NeNe, Amelia and Jeronimore Watkins of Martinsville, VA; four uncles, Terrell Ballard, Andrew Jackson, III, Nelson R. Harper and Jherime Watkins; four aunts, LaToriyia Murray, Joanna Thompson, Maya Evans, and Caitlin Yates; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1 p.m. with the funeral service at 1:30 at Martinsville High School,351 Commonwealth Blvd. E., Martinsville, VA with Elder Gerald Kidd, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Meadow Christian Church Cemetery, 1140 Meadowood Trail, Martinsville.
Please note that no one is able to enter Martinsville High School until 12:30 p.m.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 209 McCoy St., Martinsville, VA. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
