On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Artie Mckenzie 71, of Reidsville, NC transitioned peacefully at Guilford Healthcare, Greensboro, NC. She was born in Martinsville, VA on July 9, 1953, to the late James Thomas Reynolds and Helen Tatum Reynolds.
In addition to her parents, Artie was preceded in death by her siblings.
Artie was a graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Mt. Zion Holiness Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, DyNita Stewart of Reidsville, NC; one son, Miguel Reynolds of Martinsville, VA; one granddaughter, Tamia Preston; three grandsons, Jaylon Stewart, TreVon Stewart, and Na-Mari Reynolds; two nieces, Iva Stockton (Marcus) and Mildred Hampton (Stacey); one nephew, Thomas Reynolds (Shirley); two great nieces, Artavia Reynolds and LaTisha Mitchell; two great nephews, Davane Reynolds and Victor Mitchell; three great-great nieces, Anessia Reynolds, Trinity Mitchell and Makiyah Stockton; five great-great nephews, Javion Reynolds, Jailyn Reynolds, Ahyan Reynolds, Jayden Stockton and Myles Stockton; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville with Elder Herman Woody, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 409 Forest St., Martinsville.
