Obituary For Carolyn Pannell Blue
On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Carolyn Pannell Blue 69, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born May 22, 1953, in Virginia, the daughter of Edmund Pannell, and Cora Finney Pannell who preceded her in death.
Carolyn, a beloved storyteller and historian, lived in Washington DC for over twenty years where she was employed by Eastman Kodak. She was a member of the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She received a BA in history from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Danny Blue of Washington, DC; two sisters, Mary P. Herford of Martinsville, VA, and Patricia P. Carter (Al) of Axton, VA; one niece, Kimberly Herford of Martinsville, VA; two nephews, Darren Carter (Latisha) of High Point, NC, and Tony Carter (Carla) of Kernersville, NC; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
Celebration of life and love for Carolyn will be at the TAD Space, 20 E. Church St., Martinsville, VA, 24112 on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 4 p.m.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required.
