Cassandra Faye Carter, 56, of Inman Street, Martinsville, Virginia departed from this life on Friday, July 25, 2025, at SOVAH Health in Martinsville, Virginia. She was born on January 20,1969, in Martinsville, VA to the late Thomas Carter, Sr. and Martha S. Martin.
In addition to her parents, Cassandra was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Carter, Jr., maternal grandparents, John and Parlina Martin and paternal grandparents, Gentry and Mary Carter, and a host of aunts and uncles.
Cassandra was a member of Greater New Bethel Apostolic Church where she was a member of the Choir and attended Sunday School. She attended Shiloh Way of The Cross Church. Cassandra was a graduate of Laurel Park High School class of 1988.
Cassandra leaves to cherish her memories four sisters, Joyce Martin of Maryland, Evangelist Martha R. Martin and Lorrie A. Carter both of Martinsville, VA and Doretha C. Johnson (Avery) of Spencer VA; four nieces; four nephews; five great nieces; five great nephews; one aunt, Teressia βChuckieβ Hairston of Martinsville, VA; three special friends, Chantay Hayden, Robin Scearce and Tony Nance; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at Shiloh Way of the Cross Church, 938 Brookdale St., Martinsville, VA with Minister Orlando Marsh, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 938 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 100 Inman St., Martinsville. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
