Obituary For Cephas Eugene Haislup

Cephas Eugene Haislup, age 84, of Axton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at Piney Forest Health & Rehab, Danville, VA. He was born on August 21, 1942, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Cephas Haislip and Josie Haislip.

Cephas was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished brother and uncle. He shared many years of love and companionship with his wife, Yong Ae Chong Haislup, who remained a treasured part of his life.

He was a hardworking and dedicated man who believed in serving others and taking pride in his work. Cephas was employed with Kmart for 14 years, where he formed lasting memories and connections. He was also a proud United States Air Force veteran, having honorably served his country. His commitment to both his family and his country was a reflection of the strength, dedication, and character he carried throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Haislup; sister, Cassie H. Eggleston and a brother, George Haislip.

Above all, Cephas treasured his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Yong Ae Chong Haislup; his grandchildren, Catorae Haislup, Chaz Haislup, and Chae Haislup; his brother, Jimmy Haislip; his niece, June Yu; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Cephas will be remembered for the life he built, the people he loved, and the memories he leaves behind. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave and the lives he touched will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

May his memory forever be a blessing, and may he rest peacefully after a life well lived and a journey well-traveled.
