Charlie โLil Charlieโ Alexander Holland, III, 58, of 114 Crestwood Court, Martinsville, VA departed from this life on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Roanoke, VA. He was born January 13, 1967, to Betty Wade Holland and the late Charlie Alexander Holland, Jr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Derek Antwon Holland, Sr.
Charlie was a graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1985. He retired from Georgia Pacific as a floor coordinator after 26 years of service. He was a beloved coach for the Martinsville and Henry County community for over 30 years.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 27 years Melissa Paul Holland of the home; his mother, Betty Wade Holland; two loving daughters, Mariah (Nate) Holland of Charlottesville, VA and Brooke (Jacob) Reynolds of Martinsville, VA; three grandchildren, Coi Collins, Edyn Reynolds, and Everly Reynolds; two siblings, Vincent Holland and Tresita (Christina) Holland both of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A family visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul High Street Baptist Church, 401 Fayette Steet, Martinsville, VA. Bishop Alan Preston will be the Eulogist. The burial will be private.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

I attended middle school and high school with Charlie and played ball with him for many years. Charlie was a great guy and I send my deepest condolences to the family and friends he leaves behind.

My wife Kathy and I were neighbors to Charlie and Melissa on Glendale Street in Martinsville. Their two daughters Mariah & Brooke grew up right in front of us. They seemed like our children to us. Charlie was a great guy, he and I would often talk on the job about everything. I would tease him and call him Nate Newton from the Dallas cowboys and he would call me the same. We loved talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and sports. Going to miss him and may God bless his family!
