On Monday, October 16, 2023, Christine Marie Martin 60, of Sunset Rd., Collinsville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at SOVAH Health-Martinsville. She was born in Rhinebeck, NY on February 12, 1963, the daughter of Earnestine Taylor Martin, and the late William Leroy Martin.
Christine was an associate at Walmart for 8 years and was a 1981 graduate of Rhinebeck High School in Rhinebeck, NY.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Earnestine Taylor Martin of Rhinebeck, NY; her life partner, Shelia Wadlington of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Bruce D. Martin (Kara) of Rhinebeck, NY; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
All services will be private.

My condolence to Christine's close family that loved her. Christine and I grew up together. I was her cousin , we were only two days apart from birth. My mother was Christine's aunt. I am very sorry for your loss Shelia. I first met Chris at the wal-mart self check out my grandson Jaxson is autistic and he always struggled with the sensory overload when we shopped but once he met her he always looked forward to it after that she had this way about her that just calmed n soothed him it was amazing. I then had the pleasure of being her co-worker and her friend and I will miss her so very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family.
Always was a pleasure to work with and see even after I no longer worked with her. She will be missed.

I had the opportunity to get to know Christine every time I walked in Walmart for yrs. she was always welcoming with open arms kind words and always somebody to talk to if u needed it and loved children, always gave my girls hugs and they called her grandma, u will be missed so much rip Christine it will not be the same without u we love you.
