Cletis M. “Skip” Marsh
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Cletis M. “Skip” Marsh, peacefully entered eternal rest at his residence.
Born on November 26, 1960, in Martinsville, VA, Skip was the cherished son of the late Reverend Theo B. Marsh and Sadie Dones Marsh. He grew up in a faith-filled home and carried those values throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Edmund Marsh, and his brother, Bryant R. Marsh.
Skip was educated in the Martinsville City Public Schools and graduated from Martinsville High School, Class of 1979. He went on to dedicate many years of service as a Security Guard with Gildan, where he was known for his reliability and kind spirit.
Though Skip was a quiet and reserved man who often kept to himself, his family always knew how deeply he loved and cared for them. He will be fondly remembered for his undying love for his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Those left to cherish his precious memory include his devoted wife, Jeannie Montgomery Marsh of the home; one loving daughter, Shaneil V. Marsh of Martinsville, VA; two grandchildren, Damarious Marsh and Shanyia Kelly, both of Martinsville, VA; three brothers, Julian L. Marsh (Joan)and Timothy M. Marsh (Drucilla), both of Richmond, VA, and Victor R. Marsh (Patricia) of Springfield, VA; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Thompson, Rose Mcelveen, Mildred Montgomery, and Shirley Marsh; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss him.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, with Minister Orlando Marsh serving as Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville.
