On Thursday, December 29,2022, God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call from labor to reward Cora M. Hairston. Born May 31, 1930, in Princeton, WVA, she was the daughter of Jesse Moses Millner, and Emma Sue Gravely Millner who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Hayes Hairston, and her siblings.
Cora was a member of Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Board, Usher Board, and the Hostess Committee. She retired from Brown Products after many years of service.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Joan H. (Robert) Spencer, Deborah H. Turner, and Ernestine H. (John) Wilson all of Martinsville, VA; one son, Clarence T. (Delphine) Hairston of Martinsville, VA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 50 Moral Hill Dr., Axton, VA, with Pastor Matthew Brown, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 1310 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 43 Landover Dr., Martinsville, between the hours of 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family ask that when visiting the home, you would please observe all COVID 19 guidelines.
