Obituary For David Jeremiah Hairston
David Hairston, 83, of Martinsville, VA departed this life on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Dobson, NC. He was born in Henry County, VA on November 25, 1942, to the late James Raleigh Hairston and Dessie Beatrice Hairston.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by one son, Troy Peters, and two sisters, Elaine Hairston and Martha Hope Hayes.
David was a member of Spirit Led Holiness Temple where he was a musician until his health began to decline. He was an owner/operator of Dave's Tree Service prior to his retirement.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters, Joy Hairston of Martinsville, VA and Bernadette Edwards of Atlanta, GA; one son, David Hairston of Dawson, GA; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister; Eunice Hairston of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
